Men's Tennis Coach

Concordia University invites applicants to the position of Part-time Coach for the Men'sTennis program in the Athletics Department. The Men's Tennis Coach is responsible for administering the following aspects of the tennis program including: coaching, fund-raising, and compliance with NAIA, and conference rules/regulations. This is a temporary position for the 2024-2025 season.

Job Duties & Responsibilities

• Plan and supervise practices, athlete evaluation, develop lineups, and scheduling.
• Handle matters related to team discipline, athlete counseling, and academic concerns.
• Assist in promoting and executing fundraisers.
• Travel with the team to all scheduled matches and practices.
• Advise players on strategy and technique during practices and matches.
• Complete weekly, individual check-ins with players.
• Hold individual and small group practice sessions outside of team practices.
• Attend and monitor weight-room workouts with the team.
• Attend and participate in team bonding and service work events.

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities

• Knowledge of NAIA rules and regulations.
• Collegiate coaching experience or high school coaching experience in the sport of tennis.
• Outstanding skills in communication and organization.
• Ability to develop positive relationships with players, coaches, and facility staff.
• Ability to travel and work nights and weekends.
• Supportive of the mission and values of Concordia University Wisconsin/Ann Arbor and the Lutheran Church Missouri Synod (LCMS)

Education & Experience

A bachelor's degree in a related field is preferred. Minimum of five years playing or coaching experience; college coaching preferred.

Compensation & Benefits

This is a part-time, exempt (salary) temporary position. Salary will be commensurate with qualifications, education, and experience. No benefits are associated with this position.
