Medical Transportation Driver

Glenwood Inc. is a progressive multi-site agency that provides a full range of outpatient services for children and families with mental health needs and is the premier provider of Autism services for the state. We are seeking a dependable driver with a strong work ethic and excellent interpersonal skills to transport clients to and from medical appointments. This is a part-time position, Monday-Friday, 7 am – 12 pm or 12 pm - 5 pm.

RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:

• Safely operates a passenger bus/van on an assigned route, adhering promptly to schedule and instructions from the dispatcher.
• Performs pre-trip and post-trip inspections and submits work orders as necessary
• Keeps assigned vehicles clean and fueled
• Prepares and submits reports that may include several passengers, mileage, ETA/ATA, etc.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES:

• Must meet all background screens, including but not limited to drug screen, AFI/FBI fingerprint, Child Abuse Neglect registry,
• Ability to read maps and follow written and verbal geographical directions.
• Ability to read, write, follow written instructions, and verbal directions.
• Ability to deal tactfully and congenially with passengers and staff.

• High School diploma/GED
• 2+ years’ experience transporting 12 passengers in a van/bus
• Valid Class B (passenger endorsement), CDL
• Valid Alabama Driver's License and excellent driving record insurable by agency’s insurance provider.
