Job Description Summary

The Medical Records Operations Lead (OL) will ensure the smooth daily operation of the Medical Records Office at Ryan Hospital by fostering
positive relationships and providing exemplary customer service to both internal and external stakeholders. The OL will ensure timely two-way communication of information regarding mutual patients via a variety of methods (phone, email,
internal messaging app, fax, etc.) and function as a liaison between Ryan clinicians and external practitioners, insurance companies and clients. The OL will serve as a gatekeeper to safeguard all medical documentation including intake forms, consent forms, labs, and all assessments performed during the medical visit. The OL will play a pivotal role in the development and implementation of a new Electronic Medical Record platform/system for Ryan Hospital.

Job Responsibilities

  • Medical Records Operations Lead (OL) will maintain patient data in hard copy records and hospital information applications and databases. They will ensure their availability for continued use by hospital staff.
  • The OL will also serve as a gatekeeper who safeguards all patient medical documentation, including daily organizing, transporting, and filing of patient records.
  • The OL works side by side with Referral Office OL to provide leadership to support staff members.
  • Complete clerical duties including answering phones, responding to emails, fax, and internal messaging app promptly.
  • Perform additional job duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma Required.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in medical records role in a healthcare setting, hospital preferred.
  • Must be precise about verifying patient information. Strong attention to detail with excellent organizational and customer service skills.
  • Proficiency in adapting to electronic health record (EHR) systems and other healthcare software applications.
  • Excellent computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and Adobe.
  • Strong commitment to continuous learning and professional development in medical records management.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality of patient/client information.

Pay Range

$17.98 - $28.00 Hourly Rate
