Medical Lab Technologist

LabCare Latham is seeking a licensed Medical Technologist to join our dynamic lab team. The ideal candidate will perform a variety of laboratory test and procedures in accordance with established protocols and quality standards. This is a full-time position; Monday-Friday 11:30am-8:00pm, rotating weekend and holiday.
**This position is eligible for up to a $1,000.00 recruitment/retention bonus.**
Essential Functions include, but are not limited to:
- Perform technical laboratory functions including chemistry, hematology, urinalysis and immunology.
- Maintain records of procedure performance, patient results and quality control in the laboratory.
- Report test results following clinic protocols drawing special alerts to physicians and/or nurses on “red flag” results.
- Review relevant laboratory reports for extraordinary results and clerical errors before they are reported to the providers; including reports on procedures processed in reference laboratories.
- Maintain supplies and equipment in accordance with defined policies and protocols, and logs preventative and remedial maintenance of equipment and performance of equipment, including daily temperature checks.
- Perform scheduled proficiency tests.
- Comply with all policies and OSHA regulations related to safety, cleanliness, infection control.
- Maintain a safe and clean environment by cleaning areas daily, washing counters, emptying trash containers, cleaning up spills, preparing bio hazardous materials for departure, and all other duties necessary to sustain an appropriate work area.
Requirements
- Current and valid Medical Technologist license
- Experience in clinical laboratory setting preferred
- strong attention to detail and to multitask
- excellent communication and teamwork skills

Compensation: $27.00-$39.00 per hour
