What Revenue Cycle Management (RCM) contributes to Cardinal Health
Practice Operations Management oversees the business and administrative operations of a medical practice.
Revenue Cycle Management manages a team focused on a series of clinical and administrative processes that healthcare providers utilize to capture, bill, and collect patient service revenue. The revenue cycle shadows the entire patient care journey and begins with patient appointment scheduling and ends when the patient’s account balance is zero.

Purpose: 

Responsible for scrubbing all claims pre-submission to the insurance carrier, verifying diagnosis, validating chemotherapy against the drug cabinet, and working on high-volume claims daily. Will work directly with the team to assist in other areas. The position performs complex duties requiring judgment and discretion, following established procedures and guidelines.

Responsibilities/Essential Functions:

• Charge Capture and scrubbing of claims for multiple service lines within surgery, oncology, urology, etc.
• Validate all Clinical Service Lines for accuracy and guidelines (HCPCS, CPT, diagnosis, units, etc.)
• Ability to work and process a high volume of daily claims to be submitted for a large organization.
• Monitor multiple accounts and maintain compliance, with rules and regulations.
• Maintain quality relationships with patients, managers, supervisors, and other office staff.
• Complete their duties as assigned based on business operational needs.
• Knowledge of Commercial, Medicare, MediCal, IPA/HMO (DOFR) guidelines and policies

Qualifications

• 0-2 years of experience, preferred
• Two to three years of billing experience in a healthcare organization preferred
• High School Diploma, GED or equivalent work experience, preferred
• Acquires job skills and learns company policies and procedures to complete standard tasks
• Works on basic and routine assignments
• Selects correct processes from prescribed rules or guidelines
• Work is closely managed and follows detailed instructions
• Seeks regular guidance and advice from supervisor
• Knowledge of CPT, ICD-10, and HCPCS codes, along with billing, and medical practice policies.
• Detailed-oriented candidate that can multi-task
• Knowledge of computer/telephony support, preferably in a healthcare environment
• Strong customer service background, preferably in health care environment
• Excellent verbal communication skills

Anticipated hourly range: $21.00 - 27.90 USD Hourly
