About the role

Description

Barrington Orthopedics Specialists is looking for a full-time Certified Medical Assistant, assisting the clinic with patient evaluation and documentation. This individual will be assigned to a Physician in clinic, and dependent on physician assignment duties will vary. Duties will include, but not limited to, assist Physician with procedures, messaging, phone calls to patients and required documentation, process medical refills, work/gym notes, disability forms, scheduling procedures, assisting office procedures, and any other related paperwork as needed. This individual will see patients in clinic, H/P general overview of reason for visit and verifying all information completed thus far is accurate.

The practice has remained as the premier orthopedic provider of the northwest Chicago suburbs, providing compassionate, individualized care for patients' bones, joints, and muscle injuries and conditions.


Work shifts are based on the assigned physician.


Shifts will range Monday ~ Friday. 

Shifts scheduled between the hours of 7:15am - 5:00pm & some Saturdays rotations from 8:00am - 12:00pm.

Requirements

Must be able to multitask and be willing to learn new tasks. This position is very hands on, and we will take the time to train you in all areas needed!


Preferred skills:

  • Ability to assist with nerve blocks, lumbar epidural injections, radio frequency procedures, and intra-articular hip injections. No conscious sedation used. Local anesthetic only.
  • This individual will be assigned to a Physician in clinic, and dependent on physician assignment duties will vary. PM&R Physician is non-surgical
  • Certified/Registered Medical Assistant preferred
  • Previous Experience in orthopedic setting preferred
  • Previous Experience with casting, splinting and DME preferred
  • Athena EMR System - A PLUS
