What you’ll achieve
As a Mechanical Senior Principal Engineer, you will be responsible for developing next generation liquid cooling solutions at the server, rack, and data center level.  You will work closely with DELL engineering architects, CTIO (Chief Technical Organization), and customers to solve customer problems with innovative solutions. The Cloud and Emerging Technology team is focused on delivering next generation technologies through innovative solutions.  If you have a passion for solving customer problems from the IT hardware to the data center this is the right team for you.

You will:

  • Manage multiple programs at once, some at the customer solution level, others supporting new technology initiatives

  • Work with internal cross-functional teams, ODMs (Original Design Manufacturers), and suppliers

  • Design, develop, and implement cost effective methods of testing and troubleshooting systems

  • Present often to Dell leadership and external customers

Essential Requirements

  • 12+ years of IT Mechanical Engineering experience with a bachelor’s degree; or 8+ years with a master’s degree

  • Experience solving complex thermal / mechanical problems from the IT hardware level to the data center level

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills presenting to leadership and customers

  • Efficient in the use of CAD (Computer Aided Design) and thermal simulation software

  • Deep knowledge of hardware and software interactions, and ability to apply this understanding to resolve issues quickly and effectively

Desirable Requirements

  • Proficiency with computer programming
