Mechanical Engineering Technician (Latham, NY)

We are seeking a highly skilled Mechanical Engineering Technician to join our prototype lab team. The successful candidate will work on the development, testing, and troubleshooting of cryogenic systems and superconducting magnets. This role involves hands-on work with advanced materials and technologies, contributing to the innovation and improvement of our products.

Your role:

• Assist in the design, assembly, and testing of cryogenic systems and superconducting magnets.
• Troubleshoot and resolve mechanical issues related to cryogenic and superconducting systems.
• Collaborate with engineers and scientists to develop and implement design solutions.
• Conduct experiments and tests to evaluate the performance and reliability of prototypes.
• Document test results and provide detailed reports on findings and recommendations.
• Maintain and calibrate lab equipment to ensure accurate and reliable measurements.

You're the right fit if:

• Associate degree in Mechanical Engineering Technology or a related field.
• Proven experience in a similar role, preferably in a prototype lab environment.
• Knowledge of safety protocols and standards in a lab environment.
• Proficiency in LabVIEW, CAD software and other engineering tools.
• You must be able to successfully perform the following minimum Physical, Cognitive and Environmental job requirements with or without accommodation for this position. 

How we work together

We believe that we are better together than apart. For our office-based teams, this means working in-person at least 3 days per week. Onsite roles require full-time presence in the company’s facilities. Field roles are most effectively done outside of the company’s main facilities, generally at the customers’ or suppliers’ locations.

Philips Transparency Details

The pay range for this position in (Latham, NY) is $22hr to $38hr

The actual base pay offered may vary within the posted ranges depending on multiple factors including job-related knowledge/skills, experience, business needs, geographical location, and internal equity.
