About the role

We are looking for a talented Mechanical Engineering Technician - Intern to join our team for our location in Columbus, IN.

 

This is an hourly Summer Internship for an MET student to work as a Test Cell Technician at Cummins Tech Center in Columbus Indiana.

This will be 100% on site in Columbus, Indiana.


In this role, you will make an impact in the following ways:  

  • Work daily in a test cell environment using hands-on tools, skills & techniques to perform test on engines.
  • Learn basics of test cell operation and controls (mechanical & software)
  • Participate in Team meetings, events and other cross-functional efforts
  • Follow HSE Processes and Procedures to ensure safety of themselves and others
  • Manages small portions of well-defined projects.
  • Identifies, tracks, and works with others to resolve issues.
  • Draws on other experiences to enhance the success of the project.
  • May work special improvement projects as needed.

To be successful in this role you will need the following:  

  • Must be a student currently enrolled in a Mechanical Engineering degree program
  • Strong interest in pursuing a career with Cummins upon graduation
  • Prior mechanical experience or aptitude is highly valued and a plus

Education, Licenses, Certification

  • Must be a current student pursuing a degree in Mechanical Engineering
