Applied Materials’ Vacuum Platform Center of Excellence is searching for a New College Graduate to join our team!  Our team designs and develops the core Vacuum Mainframe sub-systems used on the majority of Applied’s Silicon Products Group products.  The position will entail the following:

Responsibilities

  • Interface with multiple design and manufacturing engineering disciplines to specify, design, develop and commercialize semiconductor manufacturing capital equipment.

  • Participate and support senior design engineers to execute the detailed design of vacuum system components, modules, & systems

  • Problem identification and troubleshooting engineering problems, which are on leading edge of technology and system functionality.

  • Assist with vacuum hardware testing in a laboratory environment to validate hardware performance and identify design and performance improvement opportunities.

  • Support System Integration & Manufacturing during the assembly and final testing of new product designs.

  • Define, coordinate, perform, and generate engineering test reports. Specify and review engineering documentation. Specify or perform engineering analysis of complex scope with limited supervision

  • Interface with internal and external organizations regarding design solutions and/or improvements to Vacuum mainframes and subsystems

Requirements

  • Graduating with an advanced degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field

  • Must be in good academic standing with a preferred GPA of 3.0 or above on a 4.0 scale

  • Previous exposure or experience in semiconductor processing or manufacturing preferred

  • Able to solve complex problems and take a new perspective on existing solutions

  • Ability to exercise judgment based on the analysis of multiple sources of information

  • Explains difficult or sensitive information; works to build consensus

  • Flexible and adaptable mindset who thrives in a results-driven culture
