Pickle robots unload trucks. Everyday millions of trucks and ocean freight containers are loaded and unloaded around the world. Many of those vehicles are floor-loaded, which means people need to manually handle every package - work that is difficult, dirty, sometimes dangerous, and increasingly hard to staff. Pickle Robot is laser focused on automating trailer and container unloading using AI, machine learning, computer vision, advanced sensors, and industrial robotics to deliver engineered products customers rely on. Pickle Robot Unload Systems work with people on loading docks to make the work safer, faster, and more efficient.
What You’ll Accomplish:
- Work with an interdisciplinary team to execute product designs from concept to production
- Conduct simulations, testing, and prototyping to validate designs
- Perform structural analysis, material selection, and stress testing for robot components
- Create detailed technical drawings, CAD models, and documentation
- Troubleshoot and resolve mechanical issues during design, production, and deployment
- Ensure compliance with industry standards, safety regulations, and quality control processes
- Support production teams in scaling and improving manufacturing processes for robotics hardware
- Lead continuous improvement efforts in robot performance and reliability
You Are:
- A Mechanical Engineer with 5+ years of experience, ideally in robotics, automation or a related field.
- A graduate of a bachelor’s or master's program in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
- Proficient in CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, AutoCAD)
- Experienced with prototyping and testing of mechanical systems
- Adept at communicating complex concepts and writing technical documents
- Experience evaluating design, performance and logistical tradeoffs for hardware systems
- Able to work in a fast-paced, collaborative environment
- Experienced with manufacturing processes, such as CNC machining, 3D printing, or injection molding
- Willing and able to work from our Cambridge, MA office at least 3 days per week
