Job Description

Lockheed Martin Rotary & Mission Systems is seeking a full-time Early Career Mechanical Engineer. In this role, you will grow a career within a premier technology company as part of a multi-disciplinary team developing unique products for the defense and commercial industries. The successful candidate will have experience and/or knowledge of basic mechanical engineering principles and adjacent technical fields, computer-aided design and analysis suites, and good soft skills with a team mindset. Must be a US Citizen.

Lockheed Martin Gravity Systems is part of their Rotary & Mission Systems business area. We are a center of excellence for strategic navigation and the world's sole source for gravity gradiometer systems serving the defense and natural resource exploration industries.

We seek an ambitious mechanical engineer looking to grow their career with a premier technology company; Who, as part of a multi-disciplinary team, enjoys planning, designing, analyzing, and producing their work.

Basic Qualifications

B.S. degree from accredited college in mechanical engineering.

Understanding and ability to apply basic mechanical engineering principles, theories, and concepts.

Ability to collaborate effectively with adjacent fields (systems engineering, electronics, configuration management, material procurement and working with vendors, production, test, quality)

Desired skills

Familiar with SolidWorks CAD software, CREO or other.

Knowledge of fundamental design principles and analyses.

Understanding of structures, mechanisms, and materials.

Ability to work in a collaborative and highly integrated team environment.

Desire and ability to own technical challenges and their solutions.

Work Schedule Information

Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.
