Lockheed Martin Space is seeking a full-time Early Career Mechanical Engineer. In this role, you will develop mechanical propulsion components, develop and participate in propulsion hardware testing, and generate and present technical documentation to program, customer, and technical leadership. The successful candidate will have experience and/or knowledge of Mechanical Engineering principles, exposure to propulsion systems and hardware, and demonstrated mechanical engineering technical ability. Must be a US Citizen; this position will require a government security clearance. This position is located at a facility that requires special access.
Basic Qualifications
• Bachelors Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering or Related Field
• Understanding of basic mechanical or propulsion engineering principals.
• Word, PowerPoint, and Excel skills.
Desired skills
• Hands-on experience with mechanical design (such as team projects, extra-curricular clubs, internship, or hobby application experience
• Missile/rocket and/or aerospace-related education or experience
• Experience with CAD and hardware modeling tools (e.g. SolidWorks/CREO, Matlab
• Ability to work in a collaborative and team-based environment
• Experience in gas/fluid dynamics or energetics/propellants
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
•Excellent verbal/written communication, presentation and interpersonal skills with technical and non-technical audiences.
