Examples of Work
- Completing Accounting-related activities for the Medicaid Drug Rebate (MDR) program that is responsible for the collection of approximately $300 Million in annual drug rebates
- Processing inbound mail and sorting/logging/scanning documentation
- MDR check entry and reconciliation
- Reviews documentation for completion/accuracy
- Completes filing and data entry activities
- Conducting outreach to drug labeler contacts to ensure all documentation necessary for drug rebate processing is received accurately and timely
- Assisting with the completion of MDR audits
- Compiling/retrieving monthly, quarterly and ad-hoc reports
- Completing Journal Entries
- Completing the Quarterly MDR labeler invoice process
- Processing ACH (Direct Deposit) payments
- Entering payment adjustments and assisting with labeler invoice dispute resolution
- Maintains various records/documents
- Review and respond to MDR mailbox emails/attachments
- Creating and sending labeler letters for past due accounts
Requirements/Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications: Associates degree in accounting, finance, business administration, statistics or related field and experience with accounting/financial management systems OR 2 years’ experience with professional accounting procedures including developing and modifying accounting/financial management systems.
Preferred Qualifications: Experience working with the Medicaid Drug Rebate program is preferred as is proficiency in using Excel/Microsoft Office products. Experience using State systems such as OnBase is also preferred (Enterprise 1 is less commonly used but also helpful in this position). Experience in State or Federal Accounting practices/policies/procedures.
Other: Position is located on-site at the Nebraska State Office Building in Lincoln.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Coursework/training or experience in accounting-related activities including use of a personal computer, various associated software (Accounting software; Adobe, Excel) programs, and office equipment. Experience and proficiency using Excel, Word, Outlook and Accounting systems. Ability to complete work activities efficiently. Good written and oral communication/customer service/relationship skills. Strong organizational, time management and problem-solving/critical thinking skills; adaptability to various tasks and ability to accurately follow Standard Operating Procedures and apply on-the-job training activities to practice is also important. Accurately interpret Medicaid Drug Rebate data and related statements/reports for job duty completion. Ability to work well in collaboration with the MDR team and various drug labelers.
