Materials Test Engineering Intern

About the role
As an intern on the Materials Engineering team, you will have the opportunity to work on our ground up autonomous vehicle. You will have the opportunity to work hands-on in a laboratory environment to provide solutions to a variety of vehicle systems including body safety structure, exterior/aesthetic components, and electro mechanisms. You will work closely with teams within Zoox to fabricate test articles and perform testing to produce data that will have a meaningful impact on the design of our hardware. The type of work is varied and includes laboratory testing, engineering design, validation, and concept fabrication.
Vaccine MandateEmployees working in this position will be required to have received a vaccine approved by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration and/or the World Health Organization. In addition, employees who are eligible for a COVID-19 booster vaccine (“Booster”) will be required to receive a Booster. Employees will be required to show proof of vaccination status upon receipt of a conditional offer of employment. That offer of employment will be conditioned upon, among other things, an Applicant’s ability to show proof of vaccination status. Technical Qualifications & Language Requirements
- Pursuing a degree in Materials Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or related field
- Strong communication and organizational skills
- Proactive and self-motivated
- Familiar with materials science principles, basic laboratory procedure, mechanical testing on UTM, mechanical design and fabrication
