Job Description

EAG Laboratories (a Eurofins company) has a team of highly skilled and experienced scientists, engineers, and analysts that provide industry leading techniques to help clients solve their problems. With a state-of-the-art, purpose designed laboratory equipped with leading edge microscopy and analytical tools, that provide ultra-high spatial resolution, EAG offers the finest knowledge based analytical solutions available today.

We have a fantastic opportunity for a Materials Scientist to join our dynamic Dual Beam Analysis group. Primary function includes TEM sample preparation of lamella for imaging of client samples using Dual Beam FIB tools. The successful candidate will work as a part of a team and be expected to rapidly gain a working knowledge of many analytical techniques.

Work Schedule: 5pm-2am, Tuesdays to Saturdays

Qualifications

  • MS or PhD in Materials Science and Engineering or related field or equivalent industry experience
  • MUST HAVE experience with FIB-SEM operation and EBSD
  • Expert with SEM/EDX, EBSD or TEM sample preparation
  • Solid understanding of electron microscopy, semiconductor device physics and failure analysis (through previous work experience or course work). 
  • In depth knowledge of electron microscopy

Note: This role is subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR).

What would set you apart:

  • Excellent communication skills (written/presentation) with clients and internal teams
  • Proficient in MS Word and Powerpoint

Physical Requirements:

  • The person in this position needs to occasionally move about inside the office or laboratory to access file cabinets, machinery, equipment etc.
  • Ability to continuously operate a personal computer or lab equipment for extended periods of time (4 or more hours).
  • Physical dexterity sufficient to use hands, arms, and shoulders repetitively to operate a keyboard and other lab equipment, use a telephone, access file cabinets and other items stored at various levels, including overhead.   
  • Must be able to remain in a stationary position 90% of the time. 
  • Ability to speak and hear well enough to communicate clearly and understandably with sufficient volume to ensure an accurate exchange of information in normal conversational distance, over the telephone, and in a group setting.
  • Learn new tasks, remember processes, maintain focus, complete tasks independently, make timely decisions in the context of a workflow, ability to communicate with visitors, ability to complete tasks in situations that have a speed or productivity quota.

Additional Information

Compensation Range: $105,000-$118,000/yr. (Salary is commensurate with experience and degree of technical expertise. Additional evening and weekend shift differentials will apply.)
