Job Summary: Responsible for inventory control ensuring all needed supplies are available for the department while maintaining a systematic approach to inventory management to include cost control.
Essential Functions of the Position:
- Materials Management
- Maintains adequate supplies in the ASC ensuring inventory is always available that may be needed for immediate accessibility during procedures
- Reviews booking sheets weekly to identify materials/implants needed
- Maintains facility par levels on items
- Maintains professional relationships with vendors and should always be tracking pricing, negotiating best prices for supplies
- Maintains and updates physician preference cards
- Tracks all recalled items
- Works with various software programs for order placement and inventory management
- Ensures that all orders are received, checked in and accounted for properly within the unit and within the inventory management system
- Assists with depletion of inventory in various software programs
- Assists with obtaining pedigree information on all medication orders
- Maintains implant log
- Ensures all necessary information has been forwarded to appropriate parties for billing (i.e. packing slips, invoices, implant records)
- Helps coordinate required maintenance of equipment and supplies
Additional Responsibilities:
- Maintains all required regulatory training and participates in mandatory drills and staff meetings
- Performs other incidental and related duties as required and assigned. Will not be scheduled to perform CST duties more than 20% of time ensuring ample time and focus to be dedicated to main role of materials manager.
Qualifications
Physical and Mental Demands:
- Normal physical ability; able to sit or stand for long periods
- Normal concentration and normal complexity of decision making
- High level verbal and written communication skills
- Above average ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously
Occupational Exposure:
- Low risk exposure to blood borne pathogens and chemical hazards.
Job Qualifications:
- Degree in Supply Chain Management/Materials Management or equivalent work experience
- Current BLS, or completed within 90 days of hire
- Strong computer skills, including proficiency in Word, Excel and other applications
- Excellent telephone etiquette and customer service
