Purpose

The Materials Handler and Driver delivers and stages inventory and job components within the HC3 print production facility so that daily job production can run efficiently, safely, and consistently. This role contributes to HC3's ability to deliver products on time and on budget by ensuring that equipment and materials needed for production remain organized, easily accessible, and in excellent condition.

Responsibilities

The responsibilities for this position include the following:

• Operate 24-foot box truck for local pick-ups and deliveries.
• Load and unload the truck using pallet jacks and forklift.
• Distribute and secure pallets, freight, equipment and other material in the bed of the truck for safe transit without damage or loss.
• Promptly deliver job components to workstations throughout the production area.
• Remove corrugate and other waste materials from workstations and production area.
• Accumulate, stage, and load recycle product.

Qualifications

Competencies and Qualities

Qualified candidates must have the following competencies and qualities:

• Able to learn and complete basic equipment cleaning and maintenance
• Attentive to detail and able to follow complex directions
• Able to operate a pallet jack to move pallets weighing up to 2,000 lbs.
• Able to maneuver, roll, and move paper rolls weighing up to 1,000 lbs. by hand
• Able to move rolling carts containing cartons of printed documents weighing up 600 lbs.
• Able to lift and move cartons of printed documents weighing up to 70 lbs.
• Able to lift and move USPS pallets weighing up to 25 lbs.

Education, Experience, and Certifications

• High school diploma or equivalency
• Broad manufacturing or industry experience
• Intermediate computer skills
• Forklift certified; HC3 can certify internally if candidate not already certified

Supervisory Responsibility

This position has no direct supervisory responsibilities.

Work Environment

Work will be performed in a production facility with heavy equipment and strict safety regulations.

Travel

Frequent local travel for pickups and deliveries.

Physical Demand

This role will require driving, standing for long periods of time, operating warehouse equipment to move heavy loads, and lifting up to 70 lbs.

Position Type and Expected Hours

This is an hourly position with normal working hours during the first shift, 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM.
