Materials Handler Opr- Batching- 1st Shift- Newbern, TN

Job Details:

This position is responsible for ensuring all materials are transported and/or unloaded in a timely manner while maintaining a safe work environment and adhering to Tyson policies and procedures.

· Responsible for maintaining all incoming and outgoing supplies for the department.

· Set up equipment in preparation for startup, and responsible for the running the KP machines, while

also adhering to good safety practices, food safety policies, and company policies.

· Ability to become certified in Tyson’s Lock Out Tag Out program.

· Monitor production area, provide supplies where needed and remove trash and food debris from floor.

· Must also be willing and able to act as a back-up to KP machine operators during breaks and absences,

send chubs to chiller as well as checking weights and registration, send/check correct diameters of

chubs, change film (up to 60 lbs) as needed, identify and remove defective chubs, set-up/tear down of

KP machines for production and assist qualified maintenance personnel in identifying problems with

machines.

· Must be willing and able to make decisions and act promptly on material to be used.

Requirements

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: The successful candidate(s) must be willing and able to perform the physical requirements of the job with or without a reasonable accommodation.

• Must also adhere to good safety practices, food safety policies, and company policies.
• Must be willing and able to complete work cycles in less than 20 seconds.
• Must be willing and able to work on and around machinery and chemicals.
• Must clean up area at end of production shift, including but not limited to sweeping, picking up debris from the floor, and spraying work areas.
• Must be willing and able to perform the following task for periods up to 12 hours on concrete floor, some of which may include but is not limited to standing, stooping, walking, climbing, and lifting.
• Must be willing and able to work in temperatures less than or equal to 35 degrees Fahrenheit temperature for minimum of 8 hours.
• Must be willing and able to work in a wet environment.
• Must be willing and able to complete cycles in less than 10 seconds.

Must have at least 3 months of work experience with a single employer in the last 18 months.
