HII Mission Technologies is seeking an experienced Materials Engineer II to join our team in Honolulu, Hawaii. This role involves evaluating materials, designing manufacturing processes, and developing new material applications to meet specialized design and performance specifications for mission-critical operations.

What You Will Do:

  • Evaluate materials to develop machinery and manufacturing processes that align with design and performance specifications.
  • Innovate new applications for existing materials to enhance product capabilities.
  • Work with a variety of materials, including metals, composites, ceramics, glass, plastics, polymers, semiconductors, and naturally occurring materials.
  • Develop composite solutions that meet mechanical, electrical, and chemical requirements for defense and engineering applications.
  • Lead and direct technical efforts to optimize material performance and durability in various environments.
  • Collaborate with engineering teams, manufacturing specialists, and security professionals to ensure compliance with operational standards.
  • Apply extensive experience and judgment in material selection, testing, and process improvements.

What We're Looking For:

  • 5 years relevant experience with Bachelors in related field; 3 years relevant experience with Masters in related field; 0 years experience with PhD or Juris Doctorate in related field; or High School Diploma or equivalent and 9 years relevant experience.
  • Familiarity with industry concepts, practices, and procedures in material sciences and engineering.
  • Ability to lead technical projects, providing recommendations for material advancements.
  • Active DoD Secret Clearance required; must be eligible to obtain TS/SCI clearance.

Preferred Requirements

  • Expertise in developing advanced materials for defense-related applications.
  • Experience with mission-critical material testing and performance optimization.
  • Ability to assess and enhance material properties for specialized engineering environments.
