About the role

Description

Position Summary: Material Coordinator is an essential position within Aludyne to help ensure all inventory cycle counts are correctly reported. A large part of inventory is from start to finish by receiving the incoming material to shipping the finished products. 


Education and Experience:

  • High school diploma or equivalent 
  • Associates degree (AS) from a two-year college or university preferred
  • One to two years material shipping experience
  • Working in a fast paced manufacturing environment (preferred in a tier one automotive supplier
  • Fork Truck Certification
  • Knowledge of process routing (production material flow as well as FIFO)
  • Knowledge of shipping/receiving
  • Knowledge of inventory processes

Skills, Knowledge, and Competencies:

  • Must be proficient with Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Power-Point for presentations, PLEX, and Mach2.
  • Needs a working knowledge of basic accounting principles.
  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, production employees.
  • Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. 
  •  Working knowledge of automotive internal production process

Requirements

  • First point of contact for Inventory Issues on the floor.
  • Main point of support for Operations, Materials Receiving and Shipping for Inventory Control as well as Training.
  • Liaison between all internal customers (Quality, Production, Purchasing, Shipping, Engineering) as it relates to Inventory transactions, monitor incoming raw material suppliers, component suppliers, WIP and FG’s. 
  • Maintain Aludyne’s 97% inventory accuracy goal
  • If the count is <+/- 97% accuracy, must be investigated, supporting documentation uploaded and sent through the Workflow in Plex, for approval by the Controller and Materials Manager. 
  • Ensure proper inventory tracking methods are being used in the plant. Elevate chronic misuse as needed. 
  •  Proper methods to ensure inventory counts and costs are maintained accurately.
  • These reports should be reviewed daily by the plant management team.
  • Daily morning inventory reports and emails.
  • Lead for the Physical Inventory and Cycle Counts. 
  • Schedule & Lead the Cycle Count activity within the plant.
  • Ensure that Rework orders and Subcontractors jobs are reported correctly.
  • Verify that Inventory is in balance at all levels.
  •  Ability to work overtime and possible weekends.
  • Report all Inventory variances to Supervisors and VSMs
  • Must follow and uphold to company safety standards as well as OSHA requirements of the plant. 
  • Maintain Ford portal for customer to follow shipping releases.
  • Receive in Customer return paperwork and supply labels to quality.
  • Receive in Bolt components as well as Alloy material for the plant.
  • Organize carriers for incoming and outgoing shipments for the plant.

Physical Requirements 

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear. The employee is occasionally required to sit; climb or balance; and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.


Work Environment

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts. The employee is occasionally exposed to fumes or airborne particles. The noise level in the work environment is usually loud.
