Peerless Pump Company, an Indianapolis based subsidiary of Grundfos, is seeking a Materials Utility/Fork Lift Operator to join its Warehouse/Receiving team.
What is the job about?
Material Utility is a very critical position within the logistics team, being a key stakeholder to guarantee high delivery performance towards the domestic and international customer being responsible to maintain production and distribution of product by pulling orders from inventory, delivering production materials and supplies, staging finish products and receiving material from vendors in a timely fashion. This position reports to, and will take functional direction from, the Warehouse Stores Supervisor and will operate daily out of the Indianapolis, IN facility (principally Mon-Fri).
Key Accountabilities / Responsibilities
- Inspect material and product for completeness and accuracy in regard to receipt, storage, or shipment;
- Build skids and/or crates for product and make minor repairs or adjustments;
- Report and track errors, defects, and shortages pursuant to procedure; Performs manual and electronic record keeping and information retrieval functions;
- Maintains fork lift equipment and complete preventative maintenance checklist;
- Provide training and instruction to other employees as required; Help team with projects or tasks as necessary;
- Complete write-up sheets and paperwork daily for processing domestic & international shipments;
- Track and verify heat treat wood records per regulatory requirements;
- Perform work, promote teamwork and communicate in conjunction with our culture and corporate standards (Safety/Environmental, Quality, Continuous Improvement, Communication, Internal Controls, etc.).

- Onsite position with the individual being onsite in Indianapolis
- Ability to lift up to 40lbs
- Ability to bend, squat, sit, walk, and stand;
- Ability to wear required PPE as needed

- Deliver results through accurate skidding, packaging, kitting, following provided instructions to protect customer. Collaborating with internal and external customers. Ability to work well with a team. Strong customer focus.
Your background
We imagine that you have:
- High school diploma, GED/HSE/HiSET or equivalent (preferred, not required)
- 1-3 years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of both.

- Material handling equipment (Lift truck, two wheeled truck, carts, etc.)
- Operate cranes, hoist, screw jacks, hydraulic jacks

- Ability to lift up to 40 pounds; Ability to bend, squat, sit, walk, and stand
- Ability to structure workload and prioritize tasks
- Identify the target and workload for the day and define a plan to get things done (accountability)
- WM experience in SAP an advantage
- Good at organizing and structuring (5S)
- Wear personal protective equipment in accordance with company policy and established safety standard
Relocation for this position cannot be supported and qualified candidates must have authorization to work in the USA without support.
