Job Responsibilities of a Material Manager

• Oversee and manage the planning, procurement, storage, control, and distribution of materials and products according to company needs and customer requirements.
• Ensure accurate material forecasting to optimize inventory levels and minimize shortages or overstock situations.
• Collaborate with production and planning teams to streamline material flow and identify opportunities for process improvement.
• Maintain records and documentation for inventory transactions and monitor key metrics to assess material management effectiveness.
• Lead negotiations with suppliers to achieve cost-effective and strong supplier partnerships.

Key Skills and Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field preferred.
• Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in materials management or a related function within a manufacturing environment.
• Proven track record of successfully managing inventory and materials in alignment with production requirements.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with an ability to adapt to changing priorities.

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively interact with team members and suppliers.
• Proficiency in inventory management software and ERP systems.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced and dynamic work environment.
