Material Handler - Warehouse

What you will do

You will play a crucial role in ensuring efficient warehouse operations by handling and moving materials as required. This is a physical demanding role where you will be loading and unloading trucks or containers and requires a high level of attention to detail and adherence to safety protocols.

How you will do it

• Load and unload materials from trucks or containers, ensuring accurate counts and proper handling procedures.

• Move materials within the warehouse or storage facility, utilizing hand trucks, forklifts, hoists, motorized conveyors, or other material handling equipment.

• Follow standard operating procedures and written instructions to complete tasks accurately and efficiently.

• Monitor inventory levels and assist with inventory management tasks, including the organization and categorization of materials.

• Resolve routine questions and problems related to material handling while referring more complex issues to supervisors or higher-level staff.

• Maintain a clean and organized work environment, adhering to safety and health regulations to ensure a safe workplace.

• Drive materials to local customer sites as needed.

• Other duties as assigned.

What we look for

Required:

• Minimum age of 18 years.

• High School Diploma or equivalent is required.

• At least 2 years of experience in warehousing, with a strong background in Power Industrial Vehicle Operation.

• Proficiency in Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) and the ability to read, write, and perform basic mathematical calculations.

• Strong organizational skills with a detail-oriented mindset and the ability to prioritize tasks effectively.

• Excellent communication skills to interact effectively with team members and internal customers.

• Ability to work in a physically demanding role, including long periods of standing, bending, and lifting up to 75 lbs as required.

• Ability to work in varying climate environments (hot or cold).

Preferred:

• Certified Forklift Operator, CDL - commercial driver's license, and/or other relevant certifications
