Job DetailsLevel: ExperiencedJob Location: Memphis, TN 38106Position Type: Full TimeSalary Range: $17.00 - $19.00 HourlyJob Shift: Weekdays (4/10s)The Puller is responsible for accurately locating, pulling, staging, loading, and transferring material throughout the facility to support customer orders, production requirements, and shipping operations. This position requires the safe operation of forklifts and overhead cranes, the ability to read a tape measure accurately, and strong attention to detail when handling steel products. The Puller plays a key role in maintaining inventory accuracy, order quality, and operational efficiency.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Pull, verify, and stage material according to work orders, pick tickets, and production requirements.
Accurately identify material type, size, length, and quantity using a tape measure and product documentation.
Load, unload, and transport material using forklifts and overhead cranes.
Prepare material for shipping, production, or customer pickup.
Maintain accurate material locations and assist with inventory organization and cycle counts.
Perform daily inspections of forklifts, cranes, and material handling equipment.
Keep work areas clean, organized, and free of safety hazards.
Follow all Morgan Steel safety policies, procedures, and PPE requirements.
Report material discrepancies, damaged products, equipment issues, and safety concerns.
Assist other warehouse and production departments as needed to support operational goals.
Qualifications
High school diploma or GED preferred.
Minimum of two (2) years of warehouse, manufacturing, material handling, or steel service center experience.
Experience operating forklifts.
Experience operating overhead cranes.
Ability to accurately read a tape measure.
Ability to read and interpret work orders and shipping documentation.
Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
Dependable attendance and punctuality.
Preferred
Experience handling steel products, tubing, plate, sheet, or structural material.
Experience working in a steel service center, fabrication shop, or manufacturing environment.
Experience with inventory control and warehouse systems.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Proficient in reading a tape measure.
Ability to identify various steel products and materials.
Ability to safely operate forklifts and overhead cranes.
Basic understanding of warehouse operations and inventory processes.
Strong organizational skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Ability to prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment.
