Material Handler/Overhead Crane

 Overview
Seeking a reliable and knowledgeable Material Handler to assist in the receipt, storage, and movement of materials within our facility. The ideal candidate will have a solid understanding of material grades, pipe schedules, valve types, and operating equipment such as forklifts and overhead cranes.

Responsibilities

• Unload trucks and accurately identify materials, sometimes requiring coordination between forklift operators.
• Handle, store, and organize materials in designated warehouse racks (by rack, row, shelf).
• Use forklifts and overhead cranes safely and efficiently to move materials.
• Ensure all materials are stored according to specifications and safety guidelines.
• Answer technical questions related to material grades, pipe schedules, and valve types.
• Maintain a clean and organized work environment while adhering to safety procedures.
• Assist in inventory management and document incoming/outgoing materials.

Requirements

 Experience

• Familiarity with material grades stainless steels
• Understanding of pipe schedules
• Experience with various valves
• Ability to operate overhead cranes safely.
• Experience unloading trucks with heavy or large materials, possibly requiring multi-forklift coordination.
• Knowledge of warehouse rack labeling systems (rack, row, shelf).
• Good communication skills and ability to answer technical questions confidently.
