OPPORTUNITY: We are a folding carton manufacturing operation seeking candidates to join our Shipping Department a Material Handler.  We offer outstanding opportunities for our employees to advance their careers through on the job training and job progression.  These are skilled trade positions where our employees build successful careers in the Printing & Packaging industry.  Our jobs range in pay from $15.64 to $30.00 per hour for Machine Operators and Technicians. MATERIAL HANDLER JOB SUMMARY:   Drives liquefied gas, or electric powered industrial truck equipped with lifting devices such as forklift, boom, clamps, elevating platform to push, pull, lift, stack, tier, or move products, equipment, or materials by performing the following duties. They understand and align business operations and the Department as he/she executes their role to exceed customer expectations and align with GPI business, cultural, financial and operational objectives.

 

Primary Responsibilities are, but not limited to the following:

 

• Moves levers and presses pedals to drive truck and control movement of lifting apparatus.
• Positions forks, clamp, lifting platform, or other lifting device under, over, or around loaded pallets, skids, boxes, products, or rolls and transports load to designated area.
• Loads, unloads and stacks material by raising and lowering lifting device.
• Inventories materials on work floor, and supply workers with materials as needed.
• Records load information into computer, labels, or production schedules.
• Loads or unloads materials onto or off of pallets, skids, or lifting device.
• Scans loads into location
• Lubricates truck, recharges batteries, fills fuel tank, or replaces liquefied gas tank.
