Material Handler- day shift

Printpack Rigid is seeking a candidate to fill a material handler position in our Williamsburg, VA Facility on day shift. This position will report to the Warehouse Manager and his/her key responsibility is to perform shipping and receiving duties safely and efficiently, in accordance with specifications and quality standards.

Hours: 7am to 7pm

Key Responsibilities:

• Work in a team environment
• General understanding of rack numbering systems, tags, raw materials, and WIP
• Efficient operation of stand-up and sit-down forklifts to move materials
• Performance of routine safety inspections of lift equipment
• Loading and unloading trucks
• Moving material and general support of warehouse, shipping/receiving, and material handling functions
• Responsible for maintaining the area or areas that they work in and around
• Material Handler must be willing to work with others to fulfill the key measures of the facility
• Must possess skills and knowledge to complete forms and paperwork that will properly account for material being moved and supplied to each machine

• QUALIFICATIONS 

  Required: 

  • High School Diploma/GED or minimum of 4+ years of relevant experience.  

  • Ability to obtain forklift certification. 

  • Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines. 

  • Ability to wear all required PPE (hearing protection, safety glasses, hairnet, uniforms, and steel-toed shoes) 

  • Ability to work overtime as needed

  • Time management sills to prioritize and balance workload

  • Good listening and reading skills with high retention

  • Ability to work weekends (36/48 weekly shift), holidays, and overtime as needed. 

   

  Preferred: 

  • Previous experience operating a forklift 

  • Previous warehouse experience

   

  SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES 

  This position has no supervisory duties.  

   

  PHYSICAL DEMANDS 

  • Ability to lift 50 lbs. 

  • Ability to stand or walk for extended periods of time. 

  • Ability to perform the following: bending,  lifting, repetitive motions, walking, and squatting.
