Do you have a passion for distributing materials? We’re hiring a Material Clerk -2nd Shift for our company’s manufacturing plant in Raymond, Mississippi. If you possess:

  • High school diploma or GED
  • 3 months of related work experience
  • Ability to operate material handling equipment.

Hunter offers $22.10 as the starting rate with opportunities for advancement in level and pay. This position is for our 2nd shift (3:30pm - 12am Monday-Friday).

With shift differential ($.50), your hourly rate would be $22.60.

As a Material Clerk:

What you will do:

  • Initiate purchase requisitions for materials and supplies as needed.
  • Verifies material received against requisition, shipping notices, or invoices.
  • Completes records concerned with quantity and type of material received, stored, and issued in the plant and use handheld scanner to enter records.
  • Reads production schedules, customer orders, work orders, shipping notices, or invoices to determine irregularities.
  • Conveys materials and items from receiving or production areas to storage or to other designated areas.
  • Sorts and places materials or items on racks, shelves, or in bins according to predetermined sequences such as size, type, style, and color or product code
  • Fills work orders or requests for materials, tools, or other stock items and distributes items to production workers or assembly line.
  • Assembles customer orders from stock and places orders on pallets or shelves.
  • Prepares parcels for mailing and shipping.
  • Weighs or counts items for distribution within the plant to ensure conformance to company standards; opens bales, crates, and other containers.
  • Operates material handling equipment to transport stored items from warehouse to plant or to pick up items from several locations within the plant for shipment.
  • Maintain work area to sustain a clean and orderly environment and follow all safety rules.
  • Must be willing and able to work overtime as an extension to a normal workday or on weekends, as scheduled.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Additional Qualifications Include:

  • A high school diploma or GED is required, as well as 3 months of related experience and/or training.
  • Must be able to operate material handling equipment such as forklift, overhead crane, motorized pallet jacks, or manual pallet jacks.
  • Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondences, safety rules, operating instruction, procedure manuals and memos.
