Marine Gulf Team Leader

The Marine Gulf Leader will report directly to the Marine Shipowners Practice Leader and has a dotted line report into the Marine Leader for North America. This candidate will be responsible for managing large and complex clients, deploying placement expertise, participating in RFP’s, building a pipeline of prospective clients, growing the Marine book in the Gulf region, building and managing a team and assisting Marine North America in achieving its goals.
Performance Objectives:
Marketing and placement for large and complex accounts
Maintain a book of business
Participate in RFP’s
Function as a resource on Shipowner’s accounts within the practice, provide technical expertise
Maintain and build a prospective pipeline for the region
Formulate a business plan for growth in the region
Build and manage a team
Assist in achieving the goals and objectives of the North American Marine Practice
Collaborate with other LOBs to cross sell products and services
Maintain and develop relationships with insurance carriers’ partners
Foster relationships with existing and prospective clients

College Degree preferred
More than 10 years insurance broking and/or underwriting experience
Insurance broker’s P&C license required
Ability to utilize Microsoft Office Suite effectively, including PowerPoint, Word, Excel and Outlook
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
Excellent problem-solving skills
Exceptional time management and organizational skills with a track record of success working against tight deadlines
Ability to work collaboratively with others
Must demonstrate attention to detail
Ability to conduct research
