Collins Aerospace - Pueblo site, Colorado is a dynamic carbon brake machining operation.  We create and ship out new carbon for aviation braking systems.  In this role, you will provide technical and production support to Refurbishment dept.  This includes support of CNC Mills, fundamental basic daily operations of Inhibitor Bake-out furnace and delta-V to include trouble shooting system, and other equipment in the department.  Support Continuous Improvement (CI) initiatives, training and assessment of operators, processes and programs, Configuration Control Management, Safety audits and follow-up. 

Position works onsite at our Pueblo, Colorado Facility.

Shift Schedule: 6:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Mon-Fri

What You Will Do

  • Understand, program, maintain, and troubleshoot all CNC and automated equipment in the department.

  • Design/ Fabricate/ Maintain complex fixtures and tool holding devices as required supporting both production and new program development.

  • Review manufacturing requirements for new programs and develop associated production processes (SOPs, WIs)

  • Learn to compile data for and publish CTN’s and other technical reports as necessary for new and existing processes in the department.

  • Utilize CI tools such as DAISY and RRCA process to reduce process variation.

  • Possess the ability to support minor projects or lead sub-sections of major projects. 

  • Effectively read blueprints including geometrical dimension and tolerance (GD&T).

  • Possess experience in CAD, MasterCam, Solidworks, TMAC and MS Windows/ Office applications.

  • Coordinate and assist in Oxidation Inhibitor Bake-out (OBO) furnace insulation and coil retrofits

  • Assist with Delta V programming.

  • Monitor furnace consumable inventory and order replacements as needed.

Qualifications You Must Have

  • Typically requires HS Diploma or AA/AS degree (or other 2-year post high school training) with less than 2 years of relevant experience

  • 1 to 2 years of comprehensive Induction furnace experience.

  • 1 to 2 years of relative CNC experience.

  • Ability to problem solve and exercise creativity to develop and/or implement practical solutions.
