Manufacturing Engineering provides technical expertise to numerous manufacturing and development programs within Power & Controls, Electronics Manufacturing Operations. Our work involves electronic hardware for aircraft electrical systems. The Manufacturing Engineering Manager role will work productivity improvements, NPI integration, quality zero defect plans, and tooling solutions.
What You Will Do
- Lead and set priorities for a manufacturing engineering team ~13 in support of 3 value streams across 5 cells that manufacturing and test LRUs and a board line for CCA.
- Responsible for employee development, mentoring, training, performance reviews, audits, salary and compensation planning, manpower planning, ranking and staffing
- Acts as technical interface for factory/program coordination efforts for all process improvement efforts inclusive of EH&S, Process Certification, Quality best practices, and lean manufacturing efforts.
- Apply manufacturing engineering skillsets across the extended value stream to resolve constraints and improve process and product designs
- Leverage knowledge and technical skills to influence business decisions and results from new designs to recurring production
- Design, control, and improve the producibility of products through collaboration with a multi-disciplined team
- Lead and coordinate projects, efforts, and improvements across the extended value streams
- Act as the manufacturing and producibility authority within the manufacturing facility
- Coordinates with component engineering for producibility and design for manufacturing
- Evaluates factory technical issues and escalates as appropriate to program engineering, program leadership, and materials engineering.
- Supports DFMA, PFMEA, MRA/MMA activities, APQP
- Assists in resolving factory to factory quality issues, RCCA
- Engages in NPI efforts, design reviews, coordinate with factory design teams and engineering hardware
- The schedule for this position is Monday- Friday from 7AM-3:30PM
- May be required to travel up to 5%.

Qualifications You Must Have
- Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) unless prohibited by local laws/regulations and minimum 8 years prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 5 years of experience or in absence of a degree, 12 years of relevant experience.

Qualifications We Prefer
- Bachelor degree in Mechanical Engineering or Industrial Engineering.
- Prior experience managing a team of direct reports in a manufacturing environment.
- Ability to identify, reduce and eliminate cost, quality, and schedule constraints through technical engagements.
- Understand and utilize factory and program performance data.
