Where is the work:
On-Site (5 days)
Join Trane Technologies as a Manufacturing Engineer in Rushville, IN! In this role, you will operate innovative engineered systems and develop, coordinate, and implement sustainable manufacturing production processes. Your cross-functional team will be focused on delivering quality, safety, and operational efficiency improvements.
Responsibilities:
Troubleshoot mechanical and electrical failures and is the first point of contact for line stoppage.
Assists Manufacturing Engineering team with researching and specifying options for equipment.
Collaborate with engineering, production, and quality to resolve production issues.
- Provide timely resolution of manufacturing process and product design problems, including investigations, statistical studies, and corrective action planning.
- Create cost-effective and safe manufacturing processes, equipment, and tools to improve manufacturing operations.
- Design manufacturing flow lines, workstation layouts, and station controls that optimize efficiency, operating costs, and product quality.
- Uphold manufacturing standards including machine capability, process maps, set-ups, quality controls, tooling and fixture records, routings, and cycle times.
- Generate work instructions, job breakdowns, and standardized work to ensure quality at the source meets product and manufacturing specifications given local needs.
- Serve as a voice of the customer for input for new design development.
- Partner with on-site EHS (Environment, Health, and Safety) to ensure all equipment meets safety regulations compliant with OSHA (Occupational Safety and Health Administration).
Qualifications:
• 2+ years with related experience in a manufacturing environment
• Degree preferred in Engineering or related technical disciplines
• Ability to accurately assess manufacturing issues related to process and design
• Effective communication at multiple levels coupled with ability to build relationships
• Growth mindset – desire to expand technical skillset
• Results-driven to maintain accountability and customer-focus
• PFMEA experience preferred
• Preferred experience with project management or project launch.
• Experience with Lean Manufacturing (Kaizen, 5S, Standard Work, Poke-Yoke, Value Stream Mapping, etc.)
• Ability to quickly determine root cause utilizing 8D’s and 5 why tools.
• Ability to quickly assess manufacturing issues related to design and tolerancing.
• Low/High Voltage knowledge and troubleshooting.
• PLC programming a plus.
