OnsiteThe Manufacturing Engineer I develops and improves manufacturing processes by studying products and manufacturing methods. They provide premier engineering and manufacturing support expertise to enable on-time, lowest cost hardware delivery with performance and reliability that exceed customer expectations. They design, control, and improve the manufacturing process and system design through a collaborative effort with the Integrated Product Team. They apply their skills to implement improvements that reduce cycle time and cost and improve productivity, while maintaining a high level of safety in the manufacturing environment and quality within the product.
What YOU will do:
Support a manufacturing area as part of a cross-functional team by guiding the production team through process troubleshooting and incorporation of engineering changes.
Identify opportunities and implement changes to improve products or reduce costs using knowledge of fabrication processes, tooling design, production equipment, assembly methods, quality control standards, and product designs.
Work as part of a cohesive team with test engineering, product engineering, system engineering, program management and Operations.
Communicate effectively within and outside of own team to explain facts, policies, and practices of the work area.
Lead corrective action investigations to prevent recurrence.
Adhere to all EHS practices and standards across the site, including but not limited to proactive reporting of observed hazards and recommendations to ensure the safety and well-being of self and others.
Qualifications you must have:
Bachelor’s degree and 12 months or less of relevant professional work experience (excluding internships)
U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are authorized to access the financial management system due to government contractual requirements
Must have the ability to obtain and maintain Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF) access.
Qualifications we prefer:
Experience with CAD solid modeling tools (preference for Solid Works) and/or simulation tools.
Experience with designing, programming, maintaining, and troubleshooting automated tooling and machinery.
Experience with military and industry standards.
Experience in Explosives and/or Energetics.
Experience with Lean Manufacturing, Continuous Improvement, and Problem-Solving Methodologies.
Experience with Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T).
