Division Description:

ITW Electronics Assembly Equipment (EAE) Division is made up of four brands strongly recognized by Contract Manufacturers and OEMs in the Electronics and Industrial Markets.  The Division designs, develops, manufactures, and markets capital equipment primarily used in the assembly process of Printed Circuit Boards (PCBs) and other industrial applications. Job Description

Investigates and analyzes unique or highly technical manufacturing problems or a variety of complex mechanical or electrical production problems and recommends and provides all necessary technical assistance for the solution. Works with assembly floor personnel to troubleshoot and correct manufacturing processes for continuous improvement.

Works to reduce cycle time and man hours while improving product efficiencies. Works closely with production supervisor and production coordinators to work on improving manufacturing processes and reduce waste. Work within the lean manufacturing practices.

Works with supplier base to perform root cause analysis to solve supplier quality problems.

Works to implement lean manufacturing principles to the assembly floor.

Works with supplier base on out-sourcing of mechanical and electrical assemblies.

Essential Functions of the Job (responsibilities):

• Collaborate with senior engineers to assist in the development and optimization of manufacturing processes for equipment.
• Provide technical support to production teams, ensuring smooth execution of work instructions and sequence of events.
• Contribute to process improvement initiatives, focusing on efficiency, cost reduction, and adherence to ITW's commitment to operational excellence.
• Contribute to the creation of documentation, including process instructions and standard operating procedures, in alignment with ITW's emphasis on standardized processes.
• Actively engage in a learning environment, leveraging the opportunity for skill development and contributing to a dynamic manufacturing culture.

Qualifications

Required Skills/Experience:

• BS in Engineering and possibly some work experience.
• Strong academic background with a focus on manufacturing processes for capital equipment.
• Knowledge of engineering principles and commitment to producing high-quality capital equipment.
• Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills to contribute to process improvement initiatives.
• Effective communication and collaboration abilities to work with cross-functional teams.
• Eagerness to learn and contribute to a dynamic manufacturing environment.

Preferred Education and Experience: 

• Familiarity with CAD software and other relevant engineering tools.
• Ability to adapt quickly to new technologies and processes.
• Demonstrated commitment to continuous learning and staying updated on industry trends.

Demonstrated Experience with:

• Lean manufacturing
• Root cause analysis tools
• ISO 9001:2015
• Technical Software – SolidWorks, AutoCAD
• Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing
• Time Studies
• Line Balancing

Additional Information

Physical requirements and working conditions:

• This position requires 70% sitting, 20% walking and 10% standing.
• Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
• Must be able to lift up to 40 pounds at times.
