The Digital Design and Delivery (DDD) division within the Ministry of Technology and Innovation (TI) leads the development of the next generation of digital public services for the GoA. DDD partners with other departments to deliver products, platforms and services that are better, faster, and easier, through modern user-centered agile processes. DDD offers potential candidates a unique opportunity to work on meaningful challenges that transform government and positively impact Albertans.

The Platforms branch within DDD is accountable for supporting ministry programs through the planning, development, delivery and operations of user-centered common platform services. The branch builds and develops common platforms and data services that enable product teams to deliver working software that meets the needs of their users.



Role Responsibilities

The Platforms branch is looking for a Manager, Technical Standards. This position reports to the Director, Platforms Operations.

 

The responsibilities of these roles include:

  • Overseeing implementation and continuous improvement of digital trust, authentication, credentialing, and payment technical policy and standards across the enterprise.
  • Providing strategic guidance to senior leadership on digital trust, credential ecosystems, and risk-based governance.
  • Managing procurement strategy, documentation, and contract execution, ensuring alignment with risk, compliance, and innovation goals.
  • Leading the lifecycle management of legal agreements (e.g., MoUs, integration, intergovernmental), ensuring alignment with standards and risk tolerance.
  • Overseeing the GoA mobile app stores and Notify Program, and the branch testbed environment to support digital service delivery and innovation.
  • Defining goals, manage performance, and lead recruitment, training, and development of unit staff.
  • Monitoring progress, adjust strategies, and contribute to planning documents, reports, and executive communications.
  • Serving as acting Director when required.
