About the role
Responsibilities:
- Compile and prepare monthly, quarterly and annual accounting for income tax calculations in the US. Assist in compilation and preparation for international subsidiaries.
- Assist Sr. Director - Tax in the audit of international accounting for income taxes and tasks relating to foreign operations on all tax matters as required (income tax, VAT, withholding tax, etc.).
- Run trial balances and related reports – aligning with accounting group.
- Prepare provision to return reconciliations and related tax accounting adjustments.
- Gather tax data and manage completion of federal, international (as related to domestic reporting requirements) and state income tax returns including all related analysis and support.
- Compile data for sales, use, and property tax filings.
- Assemble data as needed for compliance on other indirect tax returns as required.
- Manage audits of federal, state, and local income tax filings.
- Prepare and maintain federal, state, local tax calendar as well as other compliance obligations.
- Manage, assist with and maintain tax depreciation calculations, reports and other related documentation.
- Perform general ledger account analysis and reconciliations as appropriate.
- Assist with state apportionment, Nexus and research.
- Confirm proper work paper documentation for all filings.
- Ensure that tax compliance requirements are being met in a timely and efficient manner.
- Manage transfer pricing documentation and other arrangements. Manage BEPS related documentation as requested.
- Administer accounting with Company’s budgeting process as it relates to tax.
- Comply with and enforce the PKC Group Environmental, Health and Safety Policy.
- Comply with the environmental work instructions applicable to their job position.
- Report any deviation on the environmental operational controls established and communicate improvement initiatives.
- Participate in EHS training.
Education and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance.
- Five (5) years of progressive experience in corporate tax including experience with multi-national corporations.
- Big 4 accounting (or similar) firm experience preferred.
Preferred:
- JD and/or CPA preferred
- Master’s degree in taxation preferred.
Skill / Knowledge Requirements:
- Must be proficient in Office365 and have advanced proficiency with Excel.
- Strong knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and/or International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS).
- Must be organized, detail oriented, and can take initiative and operate with an owner-minded attitude.
- Must be self- starter and pro-active in taking initiative as well as identifying and assessing issues and making appropriate recommendations.
- Must follow through on commitments and understand deadlines are meaningful.
Working Conditions:
- Must be able to travel up to 10% of the time, both domestically and internationally, within North America if required.
- Light physical activity – ability to lift up to 10 pounds.
- Must have flexibility with work hours and be able to work extended and/or non-traditional work hours, especially near month-end or other financial reporting periods, including company holiday periods.
