UnspecifiedCollins Aerospace is seeking to hire a highly motivated Manager for Supplier Performance. This position is for a senior professional with an extensive background in operations, manufacturing and/or industrial engineering. You will evaluate manufacturing, processing and, assembly conditions at suppliers to drive efficient and repeatable methods of production. Areas of focus will include operational performance and execution. You will also work with suppliers to establish linkage and flow leading to a stable and manageable operating system. This role will collaborate with suppliers to coordinate and/or lead activities such as process flow, value stream mapping, 3P, gemba walks, controlled build reviews, defining metrics, change communication technology or system improvements, operational logistics thru flow and linkage, continuous improvement activities, sub-tier management & evaluations, capacity evaluations, etc. This will include resolution of risks/obstacles, regardless of origin to ensure manufacturing, supply chain, and delivery processes have the capability to meet customer needs and schedule. Communication may involve senior management in multiple organizations. Preferred locations are California & West coast.
Remote: Employees who are working in Remote roles* will work primarily offsite (from home). An employee may be expected to travel to the site location as needed.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Establish partnerships at all levels within the supplier, emphasizing collaboration, clear expectations, common goals, trust, and transparency.
- Identify risks and gaps in supplier manufacturing processes and develop sustainable gap closure plans.
- Assist the supplier in establishing data / metrics to evaluate the health and stability of the manufacturing process.
- Jointly develop recovery plans with supplier, then implement operating rhythm and metrics to hold supplier and stakeholders accountable for performance to plan.
- Ensure the supplier has robust processes for shop floor control, order management / production control.
- Assist the supplier to improve efficiency & utilization, set-up reduction, equipment layout.
- Drive engagement and cross-functional collaboration between Supply Chain, Engineering and Quality for both Collins Aerospace and the supplier
- Assure supplier preparedness for activities such as executive reviews and readiness assessments.
- Support corporate improvement initiatives by ensuring the supply base is trained on the common processes, lean manufacturing, quality systems, and other improvement tools.
- Ensure technical reviews are supported with the appropriate knowledge and experience to provide a thorough evaluation of the supplier’s manufacturing capabilities.
- Ensure suppliers are managing capacity, demand and resource plans that demonstrate rate readiness.
- Prioritize supply base risk management and actions with sufficient lead time prior to production rate increases.
- Complete due diligence activities to identify and assess supplier operational risks.
- Supports the demand management planning process to meet on-time delivery targets and future rate breaks.
- Develops effective shop floor visuals and efficient material flow in the value stream.
- Ensures demonstrated yield is used in all manufacturing planning.
- Communicate and deliver system improvements and operational logistics processes to senior leadership.
- Travel requirement: As required, can vary from project to project (0% to 80%) domestically and internationally.

Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree and 8 years of prior relevant experience OR Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 5 years’ experience OR in absence of a degree, 12 years of relevant experience is required.
- Bachelor’s degree (typically in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM)) and a minimum of 8 years of prior relevant experience unless prohibited by local laws/regulations.
- U.S. Person (U.S. citizen, permanent resident, refugee or asylee) or eligible to obtain necessary export authorizations required.https://www.ecfr.gov/current/title-22/chapter-I/subchapter-M/part-120/subpart-C/section-120.62
- ERP systems software experience (for example SAP, NetSuite, SharePoint etc.)
- Experience utilizing Microsoft Office- Excel, Word, and PowerPoint skills.
