The Opportunity
We are looking for an experienced communications professional to be a part of our talented, inclusive, and collaborative Employee Communications team. The Strategic Communications Manager position will drive consistent communications strategy, planning and messaging internally across the organization.
In addition to strategic messaging and stakeholder engagement, this role will also support content development and editorial planning, coordinate creative assets, and contribute to measurement and reporting efforts. The candidate should be comfortable analyzing communications data and applying insights to improve engagement and effectiveness
The Team
Black & Veatch’s Business Enablement consists of critical groups that help enable the organizations people, projects, and businesses to be as successful as possible. Functions in this group include Digital & Information Technology, Global Finance, Global Human Resources, Legal, Risk Management, and Government Affairs and Real Estate and Building Services.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and lead the implementation of internal communications strategy and messaging aiming to increase employee engagement and message clarity.
- Create and deliver internal communications content across multiple channels, including email updates, newsletters, intranet content, videos, and presentations.
- Proactively work with key stakeholders, including executives, across the organization to ensure that all internal communication is aligned with business objectives and supports the company’s culture and values.
- Identify and implement innovative communications tools and techniques to enhance internal communications effectiveness.
- Monitor and measure the effectiveness of internal communications and make recommendations for improvement based on feedback and data analysis. This includes gathering engagement data, analyzing trends, and reporting insights to communications leadership.
- Maintain an enterprise content calendar to ensure that internal communications are timely, relevant, and efficiently organized.
- Collaborate with business enablement function leaders such as HR and Marketing for planning and content development for meetings and other internal events.
- Partner with all members of the Employee Communications team to proactively identify, create, and publish content, while also supporting editorial planning and long-term scheduling of communication initiatives.
Management Responsibilities
Acts in capacity of a "lead person." Does not have management responsibility for the people to whom they provide work direction.Preferred Qualifications
- A bachelor’s degree in communications or public relations with experience in information technology, computer science, or a similar field. Certifications such as PMP or Six Sigma a plus.
- Proficiency in performance reporting methods and tools including data visualization such as Power BI, Tableau, etc.
- Experience in the Engineering & Construction industry or B2B space with a proven track record of successful commun
