The Development and Alumni Engagement office (DAE) at The New School is seeking a detail-oriented Manager, Stewardship and Donor Communications with excellent writing abilities to join their team. Reporting to the Director, Stewardship and Donor Communications, the Manager, Stewardship and Donor Communications will assist in writing and producing general and highly customized stewardship materials and plans for a range of New School donors. The Manager, Stewardship and Donor Communications also will also work with departments across the university, the president’s office, and with students, serving as a steady liaison and collaborator. This position requires excellent communication skills (written and interpersonal), strong project/time management abilities, diplomacy and discretion, and donor relations experience. Graphic design skills are a major plus.

RESPONSIBILITIES
Writing content for donor stewardship and donor relations communications initiatives.
Assist in producing gift acknowledgement letters and receipts for donors.
Assist in writing and preparing annual stewardship reports for donors.
In collaboration with the Director, Stewardship and Donor Communications and others in DAE, develop and execute a stewardship and donor relations strategy for annual fund donors.
Generate and/or request data reports in Salesforce and Workday to inform and support strategic decision-making.
Keep up with industry best practices and innovations in stewardship and donor relations best practices through webinars, professional development courses and readings, and/or developing professional contacts with colleagues.
Additional responsibilities as assigned.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
2-3 years of work experience in stewardship or donor relations.
Excellent oral and written communication skills and the ability to present complex information to various audiences.
Experience working independently on several new, continuing, or routine administrative projects concurrently.
Strong strategic thinking and creative problem-solving skills and interest in further developing them.
Able to learn The New School’s suite of data systems including Workday and Salesforce.
Demonstrated commitment to Equity, Inclusion, Social Justice, and the transformative power of the arts and education.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Relevant experience in higher education.
Experience with Salesforce and/or Workday.
Graphic design skills.
WORK MODE
Hybrid - Employees hired for this position primarily work remotely with the occasional on-campus presence required with advanced notice. Employees in this role will also be expected to use their best judgment to be on campus when necessary in order to best fulfill the responsibilities of their job descriptions. #LI-HYBRID
SALARY
$70,000 - $75,000
