Reporting to the Associate Director of Engineering, Complex Care, you will lead a team responsible in building the tools and workflows that power Spring Health’s workplace mental health services, ranging from employee support and manager consultations to crisis response and return-to-work guidance. You’ll partner with product, design, clinical leaders, data science, and AI/ML platform teams to create safe, measurable, and delightful end-to-end care experiences for members, providers and employer partners.
Please note that this is a hybrid role based in New York City, with an expectation to be in office 2-3 days a week. Our office is located at 60 Madison Avenue.
What you’ll be doing:
- Owning development and delivery of Workplace Care improvements
- Managing a thriving team of engineers; foster a mission-driven culture centered on velocity, ownership, and execution
- Ensure operational excellence: SLOs/SLIs, on-call and incident management, observability, tech debt management, and developer experience.
- Drive execution across teams and organizations, aligning initiatives with broader clinical and strategic priorities.

- A highly capable and thriving engineering team
- On time planned deliveries and high velocity incremental deliveries
- High quality engineering output, in terms of both product and codebase
- Trend of reducing technical debt reduction and improving engineering excellence
- Great partner relationships in engineering and across functions like PM and Design
What you’ll bring:
- At least 2 years experience as an engineering manager (manager of individual engineers)
- At least 5 years of experience with Ruby, Rails, React, TypeScript and/or Flutter
- Track record of data fluency and objective measures of impact
- Track record of proactive and collaborative leadership style
- Track record of strong talent management and team health success
The target base salary range for this position is $159,100 - 179,000, and is part of a competitive total rewards package including equitystock options and benefits. Individual pay may vary from the target range and is determined by a number of factors including experience, location, internal pay equity, and other relevant business considerations. We review all employee pay and compensation programs annually using Radford Global Compensation Database at minimum to ensure competitive and fair pay.
