About the role:

We are seeking an experienced and highly motivated Engineering Manager to lead our Web Experience team. The team is chartered with the mission to shape the future user experience of Samsara's products. The ideal candidate will have extensive knowledge of modern web technologies and a passion for creating engaging and intuitive user experiences. This role requires a strong understanding of software engineering best practices, excellent communication skills, and the ability to manage a team of talented engineers.

In this role, you will: 

• Lead and manage a team of frontend engineers to develop, maintain and enhance the user interfaces for our products and services.
• Collaborate with design and product teams to ensure that user experience goals are aligned with technical requirements and constraints.
• Drive the development of new features and enhancements through collaboration with cross-functional teams including product management, design, and backend engineering.
• Ensure that frontend code adheres to engineering best practices, and that performance, accessibility, and security standards are met.
• Manage development processes, including code reviews, continuous integration, and deployment, to ensure high-quality deliverables that meet project timelines.
• Mentor and coach team members to help them grow and develop their skills, and foster a culture of continuous learning and improvement.
• Collaborate with other engineering managers to align goals, standards, and processes across the organization.
• Champion, role model, and embed Samsara’s cultural principles (Focus on Customer Success, Build for the Long Term, Adopt a Growth Mindset, Be Inclusive, Win as a Team) as we scale globally and across new offices
• Hire, develop and lead an inclusive, engaged, and high performing team

Minimum requirements for the role:

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or related field.
• At least 7 years of experience in frontend web development with a strong focus on user experience.
• At least 3 years of experience in a management or leadership role, with a proven track record of managing teams and delivering suc
