Purpose of Position:

Del Monte Foods is the Foods Division of Fresh Del Monte, a global grower, producer and marketer of fresh, value-added, and shelf-stable produce. Del Monte Foods has a powerful portfolio of brands, including the iconic Del Monte®, Contadina® and S&W®. We are currently seeking a Shift Operations Manager. The Shift Operations Manager is responsible for directing and coordinating utility operations under the direction of the Plant Manager, Sr. Production Manager, or other designated plant leadership. This position supports production by ensuring reliable operation of utility systems, equipment, and facility infrastructure while meeting safety, quality, environmental, and cost objectives. The Shift Operations Manager oversees utility employees and contractors involved in boiler operations, buildings and grounds upkeep, compressed air systems, water systems, wastewater systems, and other plant utility functions. This role is responsible for maintaining compliance with company policies, Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs), food safety requirements, environmental standards, and applicable federal, state, and local regulations.

Accountabilities:

Utility Operations

• Supervise utility employees to ensure safe, reliable, and efficient operation of plant utility systems.
• Oversee utility systems including boilers, compressed air, waste water system, water systems, HVAC, and related facility infrastructure.
• Monitor utility performance to ensure uninterrupted support of plant production operations.
• Coordinate utility operations during processing season and support maintenance activities during the off-season.
• Assist with planning and execution of utility-related capital projects, equipment upgrades, and process improvements.
• Support preventative maintenance activities and ensure utility equipment is maintained in proper working conditions.
• Assist in ordering parts, materials, and supplies needed for utility operations and maintenance.
• Coordinate contractors and outside service providers as needed to support plant utility systems.
• Ensure utility-related records, logs, inspections, and operating reports are completed accurately and on time.
• Participate in troubleshooting equipment failures, system downtime, and emergency response situations.

Leadership and Supervision

• Manage, supervise, coach, train, and develop utility hourly and salaried employees.
• Coordinate employee scheduling, staffing, overtime, and labor utilization within the department.
• Promote effective employee relations to improve motivation, teamwork, productivity, and retention.
• Ensure employees are properly trained in utility system operations, safety requirements, and plant procedures.
