Job purpose
Aftermarket is currently looking for an individual to join as a Manager, Sales, for our Aftermarket Commercial Vehicle Starters & Alternators . The business is headquartered in our Anderson Technical Center located in Anderson, Indiana. The position is based out of our Anderson Technical Center, however the role as a Sales Manager can be done remotely, and not specifically tied to ATC.
The Sales Manager has overall commercial responsibility for key CV customers. Product lines include Starters & Alternator. The manager directs the CV Regional sales and service team, works with CV Fleet team, CV OE/OES team, CV application team, Engineering and Manufacturing Operations to create and implement strategies for maximizing current business and obtaining new business while managing selected accounts. The manager is expected to take a leadership role in coordination of business opportunities.
Key responsibilities
Responsible for all commercial sales activities with assigned key National Accounts, Buying Groups, Independent Warehouse Distributors, and other Key accounts as required.
Sales Manager owns the customer strategy and is accountable for the growth, profitability, and customer satisfaction with the assigned key customers.
Articulates a clear understanding of our market share, Data books, DNet pricing, competitive position, aftermarket opportunities and profitability at each assigned account.
Develops proactive new business opportunity (NBO) plans, tracking, recording, and reporting progress toward sales objectives and growth targets.
Monitors market dynamics, including customer and competitor developments and communicates relevant information.
Takes ownership of total customer satisfaction and builds key relationships with National Accounts and Buying Groups corporate personnel, key dealer groups and assigned Key aftermarket customers. Monitors performance and improves supplier score cards. Develops and implements corrective action plans as appropriate.
Develops sales forecasts for use in the Long-Range Plan (LRP) and monitors market trends throughout the year for use in monthly forecast adjustments.
Represent the business unit in a professional, positive manner.
Provides global coordination on customer issues where required.
Proactive and creative change agent.
What we’re looking for
10+ years of CV sales experience
Bachelor’s Degree, commercial/technical preferred
Knowledge of the market trends and the implications of those trends for the industry, customers, and competition
Knowledge of aftermarket channels of distribution and organizations/associations
Ability to work and succeed in a team atmosphere.
Excellent presentation skills to various levels of management/leadership, internally and with customers
Exhibits high credibility and trustworthiness to key customers and to the company—maintains healthy balance between the key customers and company
Strong selling and negotiating skills—establishes key relationships with customers
High endurance and energy levels—works
