Job Description:

Under the broad supervision of the Assistant Dean for Education Outreach (AD), the Manager of College Student Support and Research Data Analyst (MCSRA). The MCSRA manages and implements college student mentoring, managing processes for professional development career pathway training for young adults and educators, and critical data collection and analysis that informs and refines education, administration and systems practices and processes. The MCSRA, specializes in supporting first-generation college scholarship awardees, and educational planning, with oversight by the AD, working with students through to college graduation, developing holistic strategies, providing services and resources for academic success, including regular meetings with scholars and students. These responsibilities include but are not limited to advising college students through check-ins, academics, social/emotional learning, crisis management and equity awareness as first gen young adults and overseeing the mentor program for the college students that supports high school students with an ever-expanding portfolio of students to in-depth weekly communications with each City Music college students that can range in numbers of 75 – 100 each fall and spring semester. This work includes the continued refinement of systems management for academic planning for city music college student success—an expectation of the programs mission and donor compliance.

This post manages, refines and sustains systems for tracking college enrollment of City Music scholars and students, dual enrollment, and all college scholars and teachers enrolled in professional programs. The MCSRA conducts research through data collection and analysis for accountability to include reports and presentation of research findings. The MCSRA collects and manages data and databases, and develops the data and results into a format easily representable to other employees, investors, and researchers. With oversight from the AD, the MCSRA refines and implements new data strategy, tracking network numbers, the impact of education on youth [primarily first gen], first gen college student numbers and scholarship, analyzing all these together coupled with qualitative data for leadership to craft the City Music story both quantitatively and qualitatively.

The MCSRA manages and implements youth services as pertains to regular communications with City Music Network sites throughout the BIPOC recruitment and support, nomination, audition and college enrollment cycles, transitioning high school students to college. The MCSRA supports efforts of the AD responding to direction on specific initiatives and contributes to the successful and collaborative work with the City Music Assistant Director of Enrollment & Advising, the BCM Administrator for Admissions, Advising, Student & Family Services, and the City Music Program Operations City Music Academic Program Assistant Director for music, technology and the performing arts and the EOSE marketing team. The MCSRA manages implementation processes professional development for the BCMN Summit and Reunion and for career development/advancement courses and workshops for students and teachers. The MCSRA is also expected to be on-hand for all major City Music concerts and events. The MCSRA works closely with Institutional Advancement, the offices of Scholarship and Student Employment, Berklee Office of the Registrar, Boston Conservatory, Student Financial Services, Office of Student Accounts, and others at advisement and guidance of the City Music Associate Dean for Education Outreach.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS/PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Support the ADCC in collecting and assembling data for reports as it relates to program assessments, evaluation and data to support programming, network members, fundraising, donor investments and grant compliance.
  • Conducts research, collects and manages data and databases, and develop the data and results into a format easily representable to other employees, investors, and other researchers.
  • Manages the day-to-day data systems and tracking of Network enrollment and demographics, college student enrollment and academic information, and scholarships awarded
  • Works on a regular basis with all City Music college scholars and students (approximately 75 students each year) to include meeting with them at semesters one, two, three, six or seven to monitor completion process, and advocacy within the college
  • Forms and maintains working relationships with counterparts in departments that provide academic and/or financial guidance and resources for student achievement
  • Oversee the operations of the city music college student mentoring program
  • Works with the ADCC to build programming operations and services for partnership educators, teachers, supporting the operat
