General Summary

We are looking for a skilled Quality Engineering Manager who will take ownership of the quality engineering  process for our software products. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of leading QE teams, implementing best practices, and ensuring the delivery of high-quality software. The Quality Engineering Manager will play a crucial role in driving quality throughout the software development lifecycle, collaborating with cross-functional teams to identify and address issues, and continuously improving our processes in both manual and automated testing.

You will sit directly with the Quality Engineering Team, work in close collaboration with the  Product, Design, and Customer Support teams, and report to the Sr. Director of Engineering.

Core Functions: 

  • Lead and manage a small team of QE professionals, fostering a culture of collaboration, rigor, and continuous improvement. This role combines individual contributions (test development and execution), process and procedure management, and people management.
  • Develop and implement QE strategies to ensure the delivery of high-quality software products.
  • Define and implement metrics and KPIs to monitor and report on the performance of QE processes.
  • Participate in Agile product development, including requirements analysis, requirements-based test planning, and test development
  • Collaborate with product managers, developers, and other stakeholders to ensure comprehensive test coverage and influence improvements across the organization.
  • Conduct thorough software and systems testing; including functional, integration, regression, performance, data, and automated testing to reduce software release risks.
  • Create and execute test plans that encompass the various layers involved in our applications, including UI, API, and database layers.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of Quality Engineering experience, including:
    • Agile Software Development
    • Test Automation experience
    • Software build/release procedures
    • Defect root cause analysis
  • Demonstrated ability to mentor and lead in a Quality Engineering context
  • Detail-oriented with a commitment to delivering high-quality software.
  • Strategic thinking and ability to align QE goals with overall business objectives.
  • Experience with automated testing tools such as Selenium, Cucumber, Cyprus, Appium.
  • Experience testing mobile applications and web applications across multiple operating systems and browsers.
  • Familiarity with Agile or Kanban software development methodology.

Desired Qualifications:

  • Experience with implementing or enhancing test automation strategies and measures of success.
  • Experience leading and driving quality project timelines and scope.
  • Experience collaborating cross-functionally to improve processes for software development and testing.
  • In-depth knowledge of QE methodologies, tools, best practices, and emerging
