Your New Role...
This leadership role is responsible for designing and implementing secure WAF architectures in a fast-paced, dynamic environment. The Manager, Product Security Engineering will directly engage with technical product & engineering organizations to provide expertise and guidance on security best practices especially as they pertain to network security (E.g. WAF) topics. The leader will be responsible for strategic vision development, delivery & operational excellence in day-to-day operations of WAF solutions.

Your Role Accountabilities...

LEADERSHIP & STRATEGY

●      Lead a team of engineers to design, implement, and maintain a robust WAF and DDoS program that meet the needs of the business and comply with the latest security standards/industry best practices.

●      Work with customer facing product and development teams to integrate WAF security best practices into the software development lifecycle.

●      Effectively prioritize and organize the intake and execution of work across the entire WAF security team. 

●      Own WAF security tools, vendor relationships and build strategy for effective/efficient utilization.

●      Create and maintain security policies, procedures, and standards, ensuring that they are up-to-date and aligned with business and regulatory requirements.

TECHNICAL

• Implement, configure, and maintain web application firewalls across an expansive portfolio of enterprise properties.

• Develop and evolve strategies around custom firewall rules to protect web applications at scale.

• Build a scalable solution to analyze logs and network traffic to identify potential vulnerabilities or aid in investigations.

• Recommend mitigation strategies to partner engineering teams.

• Stay up to date with the latest application security threats, vulnerabilities, and exploits especially around web, and API applications. 

• Act as incident response WAF technology subject matter expert as required on a rotating on-call schedule 24/7

Qualifications & Experiences...

• Ability to work in a hybrid environment with at least 3 days working from a WBD hub office.

• Bachelors in computer science, Information Security, or a related field.

• 3+ years of experience in leading information security professionals

• At least 5 years of experience in application, perimeter, or network security.

• Strong understanding of security principles and best practices, including API technology stacks, cloud security, authentication, and access control.

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with stakeholders at all levels of the organization.

• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.

The Nice to Haves

• Experience with vulnerability scanning tools, penetration testing, and other security testing methodologies.
