Job Description
The Team
The People Advisory team are our regional People generalists, who span across partnering and operations, acting as the advisor to the business and the People team on the market(s) they oversee.
People Advisors combine credible activism, culture and change stewardship and our role as organizational developers to build and strengthen Checkout.com’s colleague experience across the globe.
The Role
As a regional People Partner for the Americas you are responsible for the health, compliance and engagement for the region and/or markets that you are responsible for. You will build, optimize and iterate on the core components across the employee lifecycle and retain oversight of any locations in your remit. As a guardian of local communication and culture, you will provide critical cut through for CKO’s People Strategy and act as a key conduit to see that our department KRs and big rocks land with success.
You will have depth of knowledge for your market(s), including employment law and best employment practices, as well as experience of and/or capability as a partner to drive value across the talent agenda regionally. You will have had exposure to matrixed organizations, scale-up ecosystems where there are foundations to lay and, most importantly, have a flexible mindset across all strategic, tactical and operational aspects of HR.
How you’ll make an impact
Partnership
- People Business Partners - strong alignment and close working relationship with the department PBPs to support cyclical and situational business priorities, organizational design and development programmes, as well as advisory on regional best practice.
- Employee Engagement - run quarterly and bi-annual engagement reporting. Staying close to sensitive hotspots and driving action planning through workshops and facilitation local site leaders.
- Employee Relations - be the go-to person for ER, seeking simplicity in complexity and developing the organization’s zero tolerance policy to misconduct and poor performance.
- People Team – provide guidance and market insights including benefits, hiring, workplace experience and navigating local employment and ways of working landscapes.
People compliance, practices and services
- Legal – work closely with counterparts in the legal team to review and update documentation including contracts of employment, policies and handbooks.
- Practices - assess and advise governance on regional application of global policy, acting as a decision-maker managing change and delivery.
- Employee lifecycle - oversee process design and experience for all employee lifecycle activity from onboarding to offboarding.
- Compliance – through the management of the team, uphold a high standard of people compliance across systems, audits and any regulatory requirements.
Leadership and management
- As a core part of the Regional People Pod create a community of togetherness and cohesion that facilitates growth and development.
- Work across all departments and groups within the market, site and region to foster a strong, local leadership team who are engaged and supported.
- Build and drive manager capability locally. Through coaching and guidance as well as more formal interventions via the central Talent Management and Reward team.
