$98,138.00 - $121,799.00The BHI is a ground-breaking interdisciplinary research program aimed at accelerating prevention, detection, treatment and care of brain-heart disorders. The BHI program is led by the University of Ottawa, University of Ottawa Heart Institute (UOHI) and Brain and Mind Research Institute (uOBMRI) in collaboration with partner organizations in Canada and internationally.Position Purpose
Reporting to and working closely with the Senior Director, the Manager, Partnerships provides strategic and operational leadership for BHI relationships and collaborations with partner organizations. The Manager, Partnerships oversees the development and execution of the BHI partnership strategy, advancement of relationships with organizations across all relevant sectors, and the negotiation of partnership agreements to facilitate BHI research and knowledge mobilization.
In this role, your responsibilities will include:
Oversee the development and maintenance of a database of existing and potential BHI partners across sectors aligned with the BHI scientific strategy and objectives.
Develop and implement strategies to foster robust and mutually beneficial relationships with a diverse range of local, national and international partners including via a partner forum with engagement activities tailored to the needs of BHI and different sectors.
In collaboration with BHI Directors, bring a wide range of partner commitments and opportunities to fruition that contribute to the operational, scientific and knowledge mobilization priorities of BHI. This includes negotiating, drafting and finalization of financial arrangements and agreements in alignment with relevant policies.
Develop positive relationships with BHI researchers, research institutions and partners and act as a liaison, providing advice and linking potential partners to BHI research and other activities.
Provide business intelligence and advice to BHI leadership and governance committees with respect to partnership opportunities and strategies.
Liaise with colleagues across uOttawa and partner institutions to develop, refine and communicate partnership policies, processes and best practices.
Guide the monitoring and reporting on BHI partnership activities and their impact and cash and in-kind contributions to governance committees, partners and funders.
Collaborate with the BHI communications team to develop materials to support BHI engagement with diverse partner organizations.
What you will bring:
University degree, in life sciences, health professions, management or related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. An advanced degree, such as Master’s or PhD, is considered an asset.
Minimum of five years’ experience developing and implementing partnerships in a related field and with relevant sectors.
Knowledge and experience of project management practices.
Knowledge of the Canadian research ecosystem including the role of universities, funding agencies and other organizations and participating sectors.
Experience working with and engaging individuals and organizations across multiple sectors, including researchers, businesses, non-governmental organizations, and government bodies.
Excellent problem-solving, organizational and administrative skills with strong attention to detail, ability to prioritize and delegate.
Excellent public relations, interpersonal and communication skills.
Ability to develop clear and concise written material (e.g., briefing notes, discussion papers, guidelines) and presentations tailored appropriately to differ
