Reporting to the principals, the Manager, Operations / Studio is responsible for the oversight of the Project Management Team to ensure efficient, accurate, and effective processing of projects/orders through the submittal/approval and order preparation stages to meet established lead times and Customer expectations, as well as design scope, budget, and profitability objectives.  The incumbent will provide leadership and support from a technical and costing perspective, and ensure correct solutions are utilized, provide application engineering as required, communication to the customer and coordination for the manufacturing and delivery of solutions in a cost effective, profitable manner.

 

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

 

  • Manages the Project Management (PM) Team comprised of Project Managers, CAD and Solid Works Technician/Designers, and Logistics Coordinator. Manages the Team to ensure cost, schedule and quality metrics are met.
  • Provides overall strategic governance for projects by establishing or ensuring that the team is following standards, processes, tools, used for effective project delivery.
  • Reviews customer complaints and claims, manages customer expectations, provides solutions and resolves mutually beneficial outcomes for customers and the company.
  • Leads S&OP meetings to ensure proper capacity and demand alignment with the manufacturing operations.
  • Work with the Director of Design (Russ) and the Studio team to develop products and enhance product systems.
  • Work with Leads of Studio, Estimating and Back-end logistics team to meet company goals.
  • Educate architects on our products and sell our products by problem solving with architects via Zoom charettes.
  • Find on-site solutions with GCs and Subs before or during projects, along with PMs.
  • Supports leadership for continuous improvement initiatives and identifies inefficiencies and cost optimization opportunities (KPIs), along with the Director.
  • Oversees quality control guidelines and work with multiple outside vendors and our fabricators, when there are issues.
  • Serves as a business/process leader; assist in revising, designing and developing business processes and organizational model to support business growth and expansion, along with Principals.
  • Designs, implements and tracks key metrics to drive performance of individuals and organization to stated business goals.  Key metrics include margin management, quality cost and projects under management.
  • Provides leadership and ability to understand architectural drawings, identifies risks and provides technical solutions around the architectural metals space in commercial construction projects.
  • Assist with day to day operations responsibilities such as: reviewing contracts.

 

Supervisory Responsibilities:  Project Managers and a Logistic Coordinator.

Travel:  Minimal; less than 5%. This position requires visits to our fabricators and finishers for check-ins.

  • Experience coordinating multiple facets of projects, including: analyzing information and architectural drawings, communication with customers and other stakeholders.
  • Strong communication skills both orally and in writing with attention to detail and high degree of accuracy.
  • Familiarity with the exterior construction business, from estimating, reading Architectural drawings and/or bidding process to delivery of the product.
